The word Beacon symbolizes many things including a person that illuminates or inspires.
The Beacon Award, presented on behalf of The Foodservice Council for Women and The Food and Beverage Portfolio Tradeshows, was created to recognize a woman leader(s) who has truly served as a Beacon for our industry through her leadership, contributions, and inspiration.

Allison Kave is a baker, bartender, business owner, and badass based in Brooklyn. She's the co-founder of Butter & Scotch, a feminist cocktail bar & bakery in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the author of First Prize Pies and co-author of the Butter & Scotch cookbook, and a recipe developer, educator, and brand strategist. Current projects include business consulting, recipe development & testing, food writing, and creating interdisciplinary food events.
