This annual show and expo is important to the state’s restaurant industry, which supports hundreds of thousands of hard-working New Yorkers,” added Melissa Fleischut, CEO & President of the New York State Restaurant Association, sponsors of the event.

“It is important to note that there are more than 275 trade shows and conferences taking place in the US this week serving their respective industries.  While the media focus has been on a few cancelled events with a global reach on both the attendee and exhibitor audiences, our Restaurant, Coffee and Healthy Food Expos have a more local reach and are not impacted by travel bans that have been put in place for international travelers to US trade shows,” Loughran added.

“It is every company’s decision whether or not they wish to attend or exhibit at events right now.  We look forward to bringing together the company’s who do come to the show floor, and provide a platform for them to conduct business, meet with industry peers, and to participate in our education program to drive their goals – including understanding the impacts of COVID-19 on their business,” added Loughran. “In fact, we have just added a new session to our conference program on Restaurant Preparation to Minimize COVID-19 Disease Risk and What You Need to Do Know being offered on Sunday, March 8 at 12:00 pm by a Public Health and Risk Management Thought leader.”
